Default My new car - E46 M3

Thought I would post up a few photos of my latest purchase, dont worry I am keeping the S2000 and my lovely Mondeo as well

Sorry the car is a little dirty in the photos, after picking it up I went straight to the Lake District for a few days of blasting it around.

Views on the car so far:

Unlike the S2000 the power delivery is very smooth and gradually increases throughout the rev range.

The whole car feels more urgent and handleing is excellent.

The car feel much faster then the S2000 in a straight line and seats two in the back confortable.

The car was extremely kangaroo happy and this upset me greatly, after a bit of playing around on other M3 forum's it turns out it was the cheep petrol the dealer put in as part of the deal buying the car. Filling up with V-Power made a HUGE difference to the whole driveability of the car. The car is no faster, but so much more smooth its unbelieveable just a few RON in the petrol can make such a difference.

The car has the SMG gear box, that if you haven't tried you would probably think lame automatic. I did before I tried it. I am still getting used to it and haven't tried the launch control function yet, and probably wont for a good few months until I am really used to the car.

There are a couple of problems that the dealers are addressing for me, a rattle in the passenger door and either the LSD oil needs changing or one of the rear calipers is sticking... there is a strange noise from the rear on tight corners and this is a symptom of one of the above. My money is on a sticky caliper as the parking brake is very poor at the moment as well.

Over all, very happy for the addition to small family of cars

Yep genuine CSL alloys as well, didn't know they were genuine CSL's at the time of purchase so this was a nice little discovery !

lol, yes it was a cold morning, hense the dew on the roof.

I have bought it as my daily drive, I occasionally use my car when at work and when I do, I have passengers so I need 4 seats.

The S2000 is my wife's daily drive along side her Kawasaki Ninja.

The Mondeo is my weekend car

I should really sell the Mondeo but it really is such a good car that has really been looked after and I know its 100% mechanically sound, I would never get what its worth selling it and I am sure it will pay for its self with use to the tip or safari parks etc...

The one thing that does supprise me about the M3 though, is the side of the boot, it really is a great size for a reasonably small coupe.

Welcome to the club Rob

And you've got the right wheels.

Similar to mine, what's the interior spec? Sat Nav? Harmon Kardon?

Here's mine:
