Never driven a porker but for some reason the turbo doesn't appeal. Can't work it out. I think it gets compared to the GT3 and sits in its shadow a bit.

Maybe not for you Mark - my mate's new turbo will do 50-75mph in 3 odd seconds

the GT3 will not get anywhere near that, but will be more fun to drive ...

for what he needs, it is worth the £115k to overtake quick;

the GT3 at £85k normally aspirated will be

edit: prices are configured w options

Yep i'm sure it's loody awesome, but I think some of the magazines make out it's a a bit soft / not so sharp, which i'm sure is rubbish. It's just a misconception I have!

GT3 is in two flavours:

a) hardish but with luxuries, for the road;

b) RS variant, much harder, lurid colours, with a roll cage and less weight i.e. track.

The GT3 is lighter and RWD, more of a driver's car than the turbo

(though the 997 gen 2 turbo is much improved).

The turbo's an all seasons road weapon.

As Mikey says

And the new GT3RS comes in at 1370kg (din) and with a NA 450hp 3.8 litr engine making it 118hp/ltr, but you would only want to drive it on the track.

Performance stats: GT3RS
Weight - 1370kg(din)
0-62mph - 4.0s
0-99mph - 8.1s
0-124mph - 12.2s
Flex - 50-75mph in 5th gear - 5.3s

Performance stats: Gen2 Turbo - Manual
Weight - 1570kg(din)
0-62mph - 3.7s
Flex - 50-75mph in 5th gear - 3.7s

Performance stats: Gen2 Turbo - PDK
Weight - 1595kg(din)
0-62mph - 3.4s
Flex - 50-75mph - 2.1s

And hard to believe - PDK won't make *that* much difference unless you are changing gears
The other 50-75 figures state 5th gear - maybe that's the difference?

I assume the difference is because the PDK will down shift to achieve that quick time, the other ones were in 5th gear only.
