The Old Dear had a previous generation Jazz SE Sport CVT before her current Toyota IQ.
The Jazz was completely faultless over 5 years of ownership and was economical and extremely practical.
The downside was terrible corrosion of the alloys and expensive servicing at the main dealer.
Does what is says on the tin - which is why I guess they're so popular with the rational older purchaser.

My wife has a Jazz as her driving school car - she's an ADI - and its 5 years old, 80k plus miles and has suffered a fair bit more wear and tear than the average car due to her numpty pupils. It's been routine maintenance other than one faulty exhaust sensor and the odd lightbulb going. So
I'd not recommend an Insane since Reno buggered it up.
Jazz is the perfect small car. If a tad 'flat' to drive.
So don't forget the Suzi Swift, before the final decision is taken. I've still not driven one, but people here whose views I trust have...

We have a Jazz as a 2nd car 54 plate we have had it from new.
Its done 70k and been serviced , 6 tyres and set of front pads.
Its used as a van and truck, the seat config is brilliant, and one handed to turn the rear into a van.
Its always looks like a tip but cleans up fine 2 or 3 times a year.
Does about 48mpg on average, but does not like shit fuel like Jet etc will drop up to 5mpg, but if one takes into account extra cost of derv it makes most diesals look expensive to run.
Its ok to drive and commented on Saturday to my son that it still feels like the day it drove out of the dealers. So all in all cant recomend them enough

That's exactly the problem with the Civic VTi, Chippo. It's been so brilliant and still drives like new, so it seems illogical to replace it.
I believe most of my Jazz issues can be traced to insufficient front castor! Pity it's not adjustable.
