Mazda, seem to have taken over the 'S2000' mantle with next years MX5 tweak.
Red-lined to 7500 rpm and nearly 200BHP!

The new Nissan 370Z looks sweet and is lighter than the old 350Z.
Looks like we'll just have to run our S's until the engine pops and pop in a new one

I know they were making a song and dance about a 100kg reduction, but didn't they also have to add 100kg in "safety" stuff?

I knew that piece of shit would never see the light of day. It was never going to make them any money because no one ever buys fast Hondas in any kind of viable quantity.
They seem to be embarrassed by driving quickly and making sports cars these days.
Honda make money doing hatchbacks, so that's what they'll keep doing. And they'll pull out the old red H badge every now and again to pretend they've never been away.
Toyota are just as bad now too. Not an interesting car on their lineup.

Out of production models always devalue very quickly. Out of date is another argument.
Not
I think in the real world mine has probably lost
Honda going the way of Toyota? (Only boring "normal" cars from now on?)
And the Civic Type R? Wow another boy racer car. I don't care about stats, no thanks. FWD is not a sports car platform. Keep making the S2000
Ugh.
Nissan not in trouble? They're not Nissan, they're Re-Nissan LOL! Definitely not doing well IMO.
GT-R is definitely a losing proposition for them (margin is low and warranty claims are going to be high). The 370Z is a breath of fresh air, however I don't think Honda nor Toyota feel "threatened" by Nissan in terms of sales.
Look at the resale value of Hondas and Toyotas compared to Nissans

According to this months EVO, the 370 is neigh on the same weight as the 350 it replaces circa 1500kg
