Chatting to a mate today and mentioned about having to do a plate substitution tomorrow for the mot tomorrow, he suggested that I might like to get a couple of spare plates made for the future, why, well soon new backing stickers will have a hologram of the queens head on them and so no longer will it possible/legal to have cut down plates for shorter reg no's, due around May/June/July I'm told. Ruling will not be retrospective hence the thought of spares for future use.
