That's the problem with most of them. Plus the uncomfortable, tiny seats in 7-seaters like the XC90. The XC70 s a vastly nicer thing.
You are quite correct; the Tiguan is based on the current Passat plank & the Q5 is based on the A4 plank. Like those & the Scirocco & the TT, it makes them sufficiently different to be considered different cars, in fact. But still so close, one ends up wondering, WTF is the point of it all?
