New Ride
Just a quick picture of the new motor.
I was very, very close to being back in a S2000. The lure of a softtop, the inablility to cope with the image of a boxter, a Z4M being out of budget, the ugliness of a 350z roadster... like I said it was close.
But I eventually ignored the lack of soft top and made a decision to buy the car below.

Initial views - very very happy. I am finding excuses to go out and drive - something I never did in the Rx8.
- £11.5k
- 2006
- 29k miles
- one lady owner from new (the alloys need a refurb!
)
- all the toys from factory (heated seats, folding mirrors, cruise, integrated bluetooth, sat nav, rays alloys, leather)
- 300bhp from a 3.5 litre V6
- fantastic handling (not as spritly as an S2000 but more planted at high speed)

Very nice, they look best in non convertible guise - convertible wise they just look wrong.
My mate has an MY06 and loves it, quick motors too.
Funny thing is (which is a good thing R&D wise) over the years they've managed to extract over 30BHP more from the same engine over the years, the original i tried was 270 odd BHP IIRC.
Enjoy.

I had one of the 276bhp? ones when it came out. Very comfortable for long journeys and eating the miles but I found it a bit ordinary for weekend fun, almost too good at what it does.
Handling is very forgiving and progressive, power sliding can become addictive
I made a panel to separate the boot from the interior as under heavy braking what ever you have in the boot can come through to join you in the front.
The front of mine got quickly covered in stone rash maybe due to how upright it is, worth applying some 3M film if it's OK now.
I took the bass woofer out and taped up all the holes inside and added some felt in the enormous chasm, made the bass more solid but Bose is Bose.
You get a lot of rear tyre roar coming up from around the seat belt holes, I did a few mods there with soundproofing which cut it 50% as did adding a boot mat.
Don't expect too much from the dealers
& have fun

Hi Nick,
Nice to see you're still lurking.
Nice car. RX8 just too thirsty or just not involving enough?
If you decide to sell the 350z and up the budget i can heartily endorse the Z4M. Can't comment on the roadster, but the coupe is great
