Default New SLK

I saw one in a traffic queue this morning and had the opportunity to see it poodle slowly. It looked nice close up and I've never really taken any notice of them before

...as it was a 350, it sounded quite nice when he eventually gunned it.

For a moment I thought it a potential S replacement (it would get the vote from the 'War Office' as she like Mercs) but is it a bit girlie ?

I have one (an SLK 350) which is just over a year old now. It is different to the S2000 but I do like it.

As you are local give me a shout if you want a closer look or run out

Kelvin

(don't pm me as I rarely log on although I still vist the site 4 or 5 times a week even though I sold my S 20 months ago

Thanks Kelvin I might just do that

It did sound lovely and I'm coming round to the idea of changing the S this year

I have a C class as a beater and only once had the misfortune of experiencing the Merc dealer for some auto gearbox oil...arrogant lot they were !!

I got mine from Gatwick Mercedes and found them pretty good. They matched the best internet price I could find and sorted out the parking sensor problem I had a couple of months ago (at the 3rd attempt!)

Kelvin's car is nothing like the old SLK - not girly at all

Quite a rare sight too

Unlike the old model

I was behind an SLK 350 last weekend, driven by a silver haired couple. He didn't mind booting it when the traffic cleared. Sounded very nice

I think I must be getting old too...

They sound good and really ought to be very good.

They are more uglie than girlie; the guy responsible (Gunat Marek?) went off to far cup the styling for Peugeot thereafter, IIRC.

The interior tries too hard too.

Also, I still don't trust the FREDs or the unctious dealers. I understand M-B has deleted/rationalised a lot of the silly options with the facelift, in order to restore some taste and cure the FRED problems.
