Nice writeup and nice to hear your comparisons between the three cars.
I would agree with all your comments regarding the Cayman, I have never driven a BMW so have no personal experience to compare it with, but the impressuions you gave between the BMW and Cayman are similar to the impressions I have between the S2000 and Cayman.
Yes the Cayman in not as leary as an S2000 or Z4 coupe by the sound of it and I am happy with that it is more sedate in its driving style but I know I can push it harder in the corners than I would have felt comfortable in the S2000.
I have a track day at Castle Combe next friday so hoping for some dry weather to push the car after the very wet Spa track day back in July.

It was on my list 18 months ago but drove 2 and found exactly what you said about the clutch which ultimatley stopped me buying. Bloody good job too. As you said above I had heard that the standard tyres were partly to blame for the alleged edgy handling issues. They really do look superb on csl alloys. Sub 30k for a year old or less car has got to be amazing value for the spec and performance.

I patiently scrolled through it over lunch
The white one on here started me off on these!
I test drive one a few months back and came to similar conclusions.
Handling was allover on the front
Clutch as unpredictable
Nice engine
Must have mods seem to be brace, coilovers, genuine CSL alloys with Pilot Sports.
But I'm spoilt with an S with more power and a better suspension package.
But then I understand these can be superchaged as well

Get rid of the Conti's ASAP and put Michelin Pilot sports on. Ok, well wear the COnti's out first, then put on PS's. YOu won't regret it. The Conti's just aren't up to the job.
I'd be interested to see how it compares to my M3.

Looks great! I have trouble driving slowly in mine, the kangaroo thing is tricky when setting of in first sometimes.
I think the standard alloys look fine and if it were me would live with them a little longer. As with all z4's it could do with a stubby aerial though.
