Sorry it's an expression

As in, "I wouldn't touch that with a 40 foot bargepole"

I'm sure the auto box functions well, but I just think it's wrong in an NSX.

I never understand why they made the NSX in auto, as it would seem to go against everything it stands for. I also wouldn't like to try and sell it on either.

Cheers Steve!

The autos were very popular. I've not driven one, but I can see the appeal - the NSX is a luxury GT car, not a riced-up track-wannabe as so many people mistake it for. Of course, four ratios wasn't enough to keep it on the boil (like Preludes) so despite innovations such as lock-up in 3rd & 4th, it's a bit frustrating.

LJKS stated once that rather than buying one silly supercar, he'd rather spend the money on several good cars; including a 'Lude in both manual & auto forms to suit hid mood! Possibly, the same logic ought to apply to NSXs.

The one at TF is a very tidy car. I personally cannot get on with Charlotte Green and hearing-aid beige. And prefer a manual. The cost of manual conversions is likely to be prohibitive, given it's very involved - unlike a Prelude.

Love them but you could a lot of car for the money, not sure if I'd want to pay that sort of dollah for one let alone an auto.

Funny how many manual alleged drivers' cars have bloody awful ergonomics! A good auto CAN be more of a drivers' car, once you have mastered operating both pedals simultaneously. Indeed, there are many cars where clearly the manual is actively discouraged by the design.

But the manual NSX has really lovely controls indeed, so the argument for the auto becomes somewhat weakened, yes.
