Nissan GTR tuning and mods
#21
When I was moving on from my S2000s ownership, I recall Roadkill on here had a friend and he arranged me a static test drive in an early GTR (no roads anywhere near suitable for a test drive on Arran it was mid 2009 I think.) I had a feeling the guy was a dealer. Might be worth a PM?

Regarding the mods, there was a guy on OCUK forum who had one. Started standard, then stage 1, followed by stage 2 and onwards..
If I recall rightly, his sentiment was due to the huge capability of the car, the novelty of the performance stage upgrades wore off pretty fast, so was in the position of either continuing to modifying, or end up bored!
I would love to own one

Historically, it's down to the original being sold within the 280BHP Japanese 'gentleman's agreement'. It became clear that the factory car was seriously restricted and the pesky NSX was a lot livelier, having far lower inertia. It was however very easy to de-restrict the GTR to release its true potential. And then it gradually went a bit mad and race-replicas now abound...

Possibly his Jaaag got eaten by one!
More likely, one's tastes get more eclectic/ downright weirder as one gets older - I really like my Leg End, FFS! And a GTR does have TV...

I just fancy something new in the stable at the top of the food chain
I've got a lot of relatively cheap older cars and it would be nice to have something newer
When I move house and get storage sorted I might have a clear out and go a bit Mikey/Welshman mad but that's maybe 12 months away
In the meantime the sort of thing I'm thinking about will be a bit of fun and could cover a substantial portion of the cost of a silly machine
As you know, I'm still looking at DTPs but I'm inclined to wait for the correction or import a left hooker
If the right one comes up it'll trump this current flirtation but the market is small so I think the super coupe will arrive first
Is that what you call these two door bruisers?

I think resale wise black and the grey are very much the choice option.
Orange / yellow wasn't an OEM option, and red was never popular unfortunately!
