That's less than 500 cars sold! No wonder they hold their value.

There don't seem to be too many Jap imports in the UK either, although a fair amount of LHDs come up in the UK.

I would love an NSX but it seems hard to justify buying one for about 18k on a J plate with highish mileage.

You could only fit a couple of kids in the back seat of one of them, but the 996 is so fugly.

True, that is a major plus of the 996's layout.

NSX and a vasectomy's the cheaper option all round!

That's why we have two sets of cam profiles!

I understand Porsche are just about catching up on that.

To be precise these are the official UK sales figures through 2002:

Year Sales
1991 125
1992 41
1993 47
1994 19
1995 55
1996 38
1997 35
1998 10
1999 17
2000 11
2001 8
2002 23
Y1 is one of the 8 2001 cars

I agree with the general 'supply and demand' comments above to explain the cars ability to hold its value.

There are certainly far fewer people wanting an NSX than a 911, fortunately, there are disproportionately fewer cars available.

I also think that there are other factors which add to the cars allure to the few who seek to own one - for me it was the all aluminium construction (the source of Marks concern regaring panel damage), the thoroughness of design & peerless build quality. There is also the 'Senna' factor & the fact that many people who ought to know, like Gordon Murray for example, speak so highly of the car.

I agree with the supply and demand coments

It's still a head turner

And that it wouldn't have its reputation as a sweet drive for nothing

They are not THAT expensive

And asking prices are just that
