Default Number plate question

I was wondering if anyone knew what font was the official font for number plates a few years ago. It has changed sometime over the last few years and the letters and numbers are now thinner and closer together, and some of the letters, ie D, is very different.

Below are pics of new and old style (sorry to the people who's number plates I have shown - I will delete them as soon as I get the right answer ):

New style:

Old style:

As you can see with the old style the D and O are very similar. Which font is the old style?

Try the DVLA website. The style you can use is linked to the date of first registration.

Why do you need the name Sarren?

If you want some plates made in a specific font you don't see, email Gary at GT Grafix with a pic and he will email you back the plates for your approval before he does them. I've always had great service like that from him. email is on his website gtgrafix.xom or co.uk

Thanks Ian, I'll email GT Grafix.

I wanted to know the font name as a couple of websites asked the name of the font if they didn't display the font you wanted. However if GT Grafix will do it from a picture, that'd be better.
