Default O/t 4x4 Recommendations?

Sorry folks, i know these can be pet hates, but we are thinking of a vehicle
that we can carry the dog & sleep in (campsites etc) but will be rugged enough to venture into manchester.
any thoughts & recommendations on customising.

Hi Snapper - what kind of budget are you looking at ? Does it have to be 4WD ?
I guess there's a VW camper at one end of the spectrum and a modern motor home at the other.

Hi Snapper,

I've got a Merc ML and love it. I'd say that you can pick up a S/T plate for about 20K. Solid, reliable and not that juicy!

Weve had a CR-V for 5 years now, its a perfect car for a family, loads on interior room, loads of storage space. We looked at a new one last week and the wife now want to swap it for the new one which has iVTEC and even more space.

Excellent car the CR-V, 5 years and its never let us down once which is pretty damn good considering the wife has only had it serviced twice (when I nagged her enough) and washed it about 3 times in that period.

My wife has had her CRV for over a year now and in that time she has cleaned the inside of it once.....only cause I told her I wasnt going to get it serviced until she did and she has never washed it.

Every couple of months I get so embarrassed with the state of the car parked in the drive that I take it down the local carwash.

I think she has only ever put petrol in it twice.

Great car though! Initially she did not like it when I replaced her RAV4 with the CRV but she is just back from a week in Norfolk with her mother and the kids and there is no way she could have managed this with her, SWB RAV.

Why don't you get a Impreza, fast 4x4 and you can fit loads of gear in it.
You can buy mine if you like, it's up for sale.
