It was in Autocar 4 Sept edition.
I thought it looked very Audi TT. Not pretty.
Fantastic performance though.
I seem to remember similar rumours about a mid-positioned Lotus - the M55 ?
Never happened, unfortunately.
I just hope Honda make the Dualnote !!! Superb car.
400 BHP from a hybrid vehicle.

Hmmm. I think it's great that Rover have reached a financial position where they can look at developing new models such as this one but they really do need to change the look of their cars drastically. That looks awful!

Must admit I agree with Na$ty - I don't like the Smart car much but the roadster looks great. A little slow, but I'm sure better performance options will be available later.

The Rover is the chassis and engine (I believe) of the Qvale Mangusta - an Italian sportscar which Qvale never built and was bought by Rover. Only the body was designed (then re-designed) by Peter Stevens for MG Rover.
He was restricted by the dimensions of the underlying car and the fact, I guess that it has to have the 'family' look.
Top marks to MG for bringing out overtly sporting cars though, it's just a shame they don't have the resources to do their own new-car R&D.
