My dad had a Jowett Javelin for a while.
Just long enough to realise he's not cut out to be a classic car owner.
He forgets he has them over the winter and they slowly sieze up, then he has to spend a fortune re-commissioning them a couple of years later, only to do the same again.
He tried again with a Morris Minor convertible that he turned into a pile of rust in a corner of the garage.
I've told him to stick to modern stuff.

Stuff to do during the day but what time do you lock up and are you free for a beer afterwards?

My dad had Javelins in the '50s to '60s. They would then be 'only' ten years old. I learnt to drive on the second of two. Had an enormous - or so it seemed - bench front seat with column change. Top courting car
The flat four was susceptible to the rain/puddles as the plugs were low down out front, and the rad was back behind the engine and closer to the front seat occupants. The heating was very good!

My old man has an austin healy frog eyed sprite, along with a V8 MGB. Both lovely cars and the MG was our family car in the 80's BUT as much as I love classic cars I still prefer modern cars and I feel we are living the best age in car terms. It wont be long until we all have to drive boring electric autonomous boxes. Enjoy them while we can...............
