Online insurance quotation - data use
A couple of weeks back I received the renewal quotation for my multicar insurance policy, so a couple of days ago I decided to cross-quote with the insurer LV, which has been recommended by a few friends. I completed the tedious online form on LV's web site, which included providing details of a couple of non-fault incidents in the previous few years.
The costs from LV were pretty close to my current inspirer and I couldn't be bothered to switch.
Yesterday and this evening I have taken blah-blah calls from either the same, or different, claims management companies stating that I recently provided details of non-fault claims, with the subsequent invitation to speak to advisor about recovery of costs, whatever.
I don't believe in coincidences.
It appears that now even an insurance quotation is a potential earner for insurers; by passing-on data to parasitic, para-legal low-lifes, I imagine there's an intro' bung to start off, with the possibility of a kick-back if the lead turns into an earner.
Punters money in motor insurance must be in a revolving door...

I had a theft claim earlier in the year. Only 2 companies were given my mobile number, Adrian Flux and the underwriter, Equity Redstar.
Que months of calls from endless fecking companies. I wrote a very rude letter to both Flux and Redstar but my suspicion is that flux sold the details on.
If I ever need to make a claim again I'm going to buy a pay as you go sim
