Do something original with an Impreza!

I'd buy an Impreza like that. Always liked the sound and go of the old WRX's, but hated the image.

Prodrive showed with their recent concept that there's definitely potential there.

Sod the WRX lump - a JDM 03 twin scroll unit would be going in there

400 bhp and under 1000kg would be interesting.

The Prodrive P2 would be a dream car too.

the idea
The execution needs a bit more thought and polishing.
It is too obviously a kit car
What's going on with those lights

Does it need to look so kit(sch)?

Bit neither Arthur nor Martha, a 4WD nose-heavy roadster. Just as pointless as a 911C4 convertible.

Personally, I'd keep the excellent Scooby drivetrain & go for a Boxster-style 2WD layout!

Im not sure it will be that nose heavy, Nick. The low slung boxer will be pushed back, as the car looks like t has a long nose.

Not sure it will be pointless, and with that power to weight, awd is well worth it.

According to Graham Bell (here) - whom I trust to give an unbiased and informed review, it doesn't drive like it's nose heavy.

Not the car for me I feel, but it's an area of the kit market wide open - no-one does an AWD drivetrain and the low CofG should serve it well with no weight above shoulder height. Very chuckable with loads of traction and a very tunable engine which won't break the bank - it's a good idea and mechanically it makes sense.

Looks are of course subjective, but I agree they could have done a lot better and it's an area of the kit market that always saddens me - quite rightly, engineers design these cars, not aesthetes, but it would be nice to see cars that have been prettied up by talented designers before they were signed off (I'm hoping to remedy that to some extent with my Fury, but I may or may not succeed.....).

Yes, I was reading about this the other day. Worth keeping an eye on!

As for being 4wd, could be quite interesting as long it doesn't take the fun out of it. Potentially a real giant killer if set up right.
