The other day i bought..
I cant believe i bought one (Clio 182), i now have 3 cars. Never had a french car but i can understand what people say about build quality etc considering other cars I've had from the same era. Most of the key stuff has been done and replaced like dephaser, cambelt coils etc, has a lot of history.
It has lot of potential and you can see why people liked them back in the day, it needs some TLC and I'm turning it into a semi track day car - something that i can drive on the road (to and from track) and track. And some father and son time too.
I have a few plans for it doing most of the world myself like good brake/brake ducts, tyres, different wheels, weight saving suspension and engine mods. I want to revert back to standard and flog on if needs be too and hopefully not loose much. It was cheap, has some silly 17s on which will be going!.

Good choice. A mate had one, great handling, shit build quality and need looking after

they are flimsy and a little fragile hence the low weight.. rural french roads where i went in 2014 were not awesome but def less potholes
i would have one
fwd hatches need low weight imho

Get rid of the wheels and get some 15s on there. No idea whether this will make it handle better, but definitely cheaper rubber!
These always go well on track and it's rare you see one being driven slowly - the exact opposite of a Porsche
I look forward to your write ups

My son has one, Great fun to drive and not slow at all.
I'm eyeing it up as a track day car when he decides to get rid ! Very very popular for trackdays so cant really see how you can lose on it

I think i'd be faster in this than an S2 owed me a lot more cash
plus if you break the engine they are probably cheap.. along with most other bits i guess
