Trouble will be in the 'lectrics, not something I'd fancy picking apart to fix.

Unfortunately, that's increasingly true of so many cars these days.

Either hope they've been replaced under warranty, or else be forced into renting a new one, I suppose.

I'm sure many here feel the same, but it's one of the things i DO like about the S2000 - it's relatively simple and with almost no toys to go wrong.

My other Hondas (Acuras, arguably!) have loads of FREDs - yet it seemed they could build them incredibly reliably in those days.

They cannot seem to as much any more, by many accounts.

Academic anyway, since nothing is available here which might have equivalency to an Accord Type-R or whatever.

What's the opinions on say, ST220 or Mazda 6 MPS? (No I haven't been watching Top Gear either!)
I always fancied the Mundano, a bit sorry I never tried one. I wondered if the more powerful Japanese saloon would be "as good" .
Both these cars heading towards shed territory, but surely - good value saloons like the ATR.

It's a long time since I drove a standard FN2, but I cannot remember the ride being that bad.

Neil, your car looks a lot lower than standard - there are two different versions of the Eibach springs for the FN2, one lowers 15 mm and the other 30 mm. Maybe yours is on the lower of the two and bottoms out on the bumpstops?

I think the ride in mine is totally fine, certainly no worse than my FK2, but then my FN2 is a bit different to yours

Chris.

P.S. Nick, all FREDs removed by Mugen from the above

Nice to hear from you Chris.

That pic could be on 30mm as the previous owner had it on 30mm and then back to 15mm.

I think that's called throwing some high-quality, lightweight equipment at it and deleting the dross! IIRC, some cars were equipped with 18" wheels (some wonky from the factory!) that are like bags of dust, compared the the Mugen GPs.

One reason I detest these 'embedded' ICE systems is they're not that easy to bin.

Good spot on Bassoctopus' suspension! It does look like some ricer twat has previously ruined a perfectly good car. McPherson struts get a nasty 'jacking' action too, as the steering axis moves outwards & forwards under compression.

Definitely time for some decent suspension!

How much does that Mugen share with the FN2? They were serious money iirc

Look nice imo

This is mine compared now to a standard car

Would prefer it standard height but don't want to fork out for a worse ride, so a bit of a dilemma there.

Bilstein do a coilover set for £700ish which can run at standard height. Maybe that is the answer. We'll see.

BTW I've been banned from the Civic forum for life this morning I'm such a rebel (sold an item that I advertised on there elsewhere - I had no offers from their board I hasten to add). Bunch of idiots!
