Default Outrageous driving thread

I thought it might be interesting to read about some of the and moments we see on our travels. I had a couple of longer drives to do recently and saw:

1) A car on the inner of the two Cosham exit lanes off the M27, suddenly decide they wanted to rejoin the motorway, so veer straight out to the right across both lanes and the hatching. They nearly took out two cars in the process and seemed comlpetely oblivious. Strangely, for no reason that I could fathom, they did indicate.

2) Yesterday, a Ford Ka joined the empty M23 northbound from Crawley and immediately crossed three lanes of empty motorway to take up station in the far right lane. It continued northbound in that lane until I lost sight of it when I turned off at Gatwick.

Both would have made good clips for Police, Camera, Action! The first could have killed several people, but you could at least second-guess the panic in the driver's mind and therefore explain the intent. The second case is just beyond me.

Some guy in an M5 overtaking taking a line of about 10 cars stuck behind a lorry on a straight bit of road, completley oblivious to the "hidden dip" sign half way through.

He was simply lucky nothing was coming the other way, I reckon he was well over a hundred when he went into the dip

It's funny, you make that ooooooooueeegh noise and turn your head slightly away. As if that would make a difference if he oblitorated a Kiad pride coming in the other direction.

Thing is (as you are well aware) M5 is a well screwed together car with a big lump of metal in the front.

If he hit a smart car, would he have even noticed?

You'll find a lot of modern cars aren't fitted with indicators any more. Increasingly they're fitted with signals to tell other drivers what they are doing rather than what they intend to do.

They do my bloomin' head in ...

I did see a guy driving in the outside lane of the motorway and reading a copy of The Sun at the same time. This was in the morning rush hour, and he was holding up a row of ten cars behind him, all looking to get past.

C0ck!!!

Yes, they are also known as BOILS - Brake Operated Indicator LightS

Lot's of general brain dead behaviour today on the M3. Some very heavy rain around (wipers on full speed, slow down to 60 not because of aquaplaning worries but because I couldn't see where I was going) and folk doing 90 with no lights on.

I came up behind a guy in an M3 today whilst taking the mrs to work. He didn't like having me in his mirror so overtook the car in front of him on a blind bend. He then overtook 3 other cars after that right before another blind bend and narrowly missed taking out an oncoming vehicle. He zoomed away, but I still caught and passed by him as I filtered left at the traffic lights ahead. I was doing about 40 all the way.

One yesterday, at a roundabout both lanes arrowed for going straight on (two lanes exiting not merging), I'm on the left, dopey doris on the right, as we exit the roundabout she cuts straight across to the left lane, I beeped the horn and she immeadiately waved and apollogy - obviously this happens to her a lot

Today coming up the M3 a bloke in a red T reg laguna is turning off to go on to the M25, but obviously must get past the three cars in front of him who are also turning off, ends up going across all the hatchings and nearly collecting the barrier

I'm glad I was carrying on u the M3
