Sorry; one step beyond, I'm afraid.

I had always thought that the point of that joke was that it wasn't a joke at all. When my friend and I were recently shut in a basement for three hours with two young men whilst waiting to film a game show, they explained it to me and couldn't believe that I didn't get it
I've just had to explain it to MQ also.I think the adverts of that time did have a certain whiff of mechrophilia about them

That's fair enough, but it probably explains why I an uninterested in computer games.

I was hoping some of you would have old sales brochures stashed away. Wow! You own a Lincoln Continental Polemicist? Do you drive it?
Air-brush retouching was the Photoshopping of its day and was very skilled work. Playboy famously used it on their models but I've never really thought about it being used to re-touch car photographs. A very exotic-looking customer of mine with expensive tastes in garden plants who used to visit our centre with his boyfriend was an expert. I often wonder how the digital age has affected him.
Alas the '72 Mark IV is a little sick at the moment - it has a cylinder off and all my energy is currently focused finalising a domestic project.
The last time it was used in anger was for my youngest daughter's school prom' - it created quite a stir even with Ferraris and sundry local exotica doing the taxi work for other kids. In reality, it was perhaps the SIX stunning girls exiting the car that really stole the show...
