Might be that we're not getting the full story. It could be that the contractors were going back everyday to paint the lines but there was always cars there. Cones may have been put up as suggested, notices telling people not to park there. Given the situation I'm fairly sure that I wouldn't have parked there. Contractor gets p*ssed off thinks well I'll just paint round the f*ucker! It's a boring job and probably provided some light entertainment.

Wouldn't be surprised if the MR2 had been parked there regularly and knew exactly what was going on..........

Makes a good easy story for the media though.

That's what I was thinking - there's no evidence of collusion between the line painters and the parking warden.
