Pedestrian Rage
They just sound like a pair of old farts, who think they know best. The best course of action is to ignore their stupidity and drive on. I think you handled the situation very well mate.
It seems more and more people take it upon themselves to tell you how to drive/behave on the roads. I think it will only get worse, espically as you hear more of local residents taking up laser speed guns in an effort to slow motorists down.

Sorry to the elder statesmen of this website, I am looking forward to being cantankerous and always in the right when I'm older...
Anyway, it's not an ageist thing really, I mentioned his age purely because of the fact that I didn't expect it from someone just walking along the side of the road who suddenly picks out my car for attention. I wouldn't have stood for it from a 16 year old Burberry wearing scrote, let alone some bloke in plaid walking a rat of a dog...

in most of the situations I have seen, drivers have dangerously disregarded limits and the locals have drawn a blank getting the authorities to site cameras or other measures
I will never understand why some people drive fast through populated areas, and I never will
'my' estate has a 20 mph limit, put in place to preserve the feeling of tranquility and to preserve the lives of strollers, dogs and kids
there are only 70 houses on the estate, to give you some idea of its size
so there is absolutely no time differential to be made up by speeding here
yet some residents are as bad as non-residents
hence the need for vigilante action
ps and back on topic
older people do lose their ability to judge speeds
and they do become more intolerant
the second definitely applies to me
I'm fighting the first

Dont be blamming your shenanigans on me and Lee now
S2 MOF, S2MOF!!!!

In Styal the local (old) residents have a speed gun provided by the police to set up and are allowed to monitor the speeds of motorists going along the Styal Road. Caught once and you get a letter from the local plod. Caught twice and you get a NIP.
In the S everytime they were out I'd blast past in first well below the limit to much gesticulating from the sad ####ers. Point the gun at me get a low reading try again and again...... much fun
The Amuse and decat sounded quick at low speeds. They've stopped doing now as they got sick of the abuse from motorists and someone threatened them and their property. Not something I agree with but it's why we have police to do this job.
Had a similar thing recently with the 911 as it has the sports exhaust so sounds rapid at low speeds too. Although a valve closes in the exhaust between 30 and 45 so that it isn't loud in residential roads and should avoid this kind of crap.

Gaddafi (and all others who have made this very valid point)...
I am in total agreement, I NEVER speed in built up areas. It is dangerous, counter-productive and frankly irresponsible. You could run down a pet, a child or at night, a drunk staggering out into the road. And even if it weren't my fault, I'd be devastated if I hurt or

I guarantee you that I was not speeding at all yesterday. I was about 5mph UNDER the limit, and I was preparing to back off the throttle to drop to 30mph for the impending 30mph zone.

oh yes you will, trust me.......
I think old people always have a problem with the S2000 because it sounds loud (or they can actually hear it)
You should try a meet with 50+ cars there are 2 kinds of reaction:
1. Thumbs up and smiles
2. Much fist waving from old pedestrians and as mentioned earlier one old lady writing down reg numbers!
I just always smile and wave - all they want to do is spoil anyones fun so show them that they can't. If all else fails blow them a kiss! I do!
