The judge or maistrate needs to be retrained as a litter picker, he sure as hell cant have been taken in by this poor poor lads story can he?

Does it require that to be in such a position one has to have ones common sense removed and a new brain part installed that believes what nice briefs say about wealthy young men full of testosterone!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Fine is not enough.

10 years ago I was fined £150 for 104 mph, but mine was on a dual carriageway. My income / assets aren't worth anything like his.
Ten years ago I got a 30day ban for 109 on the Motorway at night and £450 fine IIRC.

I guess they have better briefs with that kind of income eh Dan?

You're not wrong there Steve.

Given how little cash the Government has you'd think he'd have been an easy target for getting a nice bit back. . .

The guy gets photographed all the time right?

So what was he doing at the time, whilst driving, that meant he didn't want his photo taken by the paps at that exact moment so as to go 100+ % over the speed limit?

Seems very dodgy to me.

just to be clear....I'm not A.Coles biggest fan...far from it in fact, i dont rate him as a footballer, he has an attitude problem and an issue with authority (well documented throughout his career with rants at ref's and officials...)

That and anyone that cheats on Cheryl Cole must have some screws loose.

So, we was doing 104 in a 50....i know of many dual carriageways that drop from NSL to 50 for no apparent reason (i am sure there is one, but its never blidingly obvious)....

I do not exceed 100mph on any public road for both moral and self preservation issues, but i am sure many of us have come close....on raods such as these...

I don't know the road, but lets say it was a dual carriageway with a reduced speed section that caught him, is it really that bad? As i say, far from sticking up for him, but i just dont think its that different to many situations lots *could* find themselves in.

As for the fine, should these really be relative to income? I would certainly be a the bottom of the pecking order, if i got slapped witha £1k fine for something...that woud hurt bad....for him, I am sure its like a £30 parking ticket, but why should he pay more just because he earns more? should be get a £3,000 fine for parking on a double yellow? is his crime any worse than that of others? unlikely so why should he be punished more? should a 'successful robber' get a longer stretch than a crap one? not IMO....

Anyway, as for the 21 days, I woudl ask for it, wouldn't you....its a cheek, but we would all do it. I am sure all of this was a result of an expensive brief...who he pays good money too, who in turn feeds the system.

If we continue to batter the high earners for EVERYTHING they will alll leave (as i would) and we will fall further into the sh*t.

Lewis Hamilton openly left hte country to avoid the silly taxations, all the bankers and big earners 'move' their cash out of the country to avoid the silly taxes...if things were a little fairer all round, perhaps we wouldn't be up against it quite so much.

He's still a crap left back tho...shame Wayne Bridge is so crap too...we'll have to watch one of them come the world cup!

My comments for what they are worth .....

The road is a 50 ... it was and is clearly marked and had been a 50 for a number of miles.

It is a 3 lane d/c with narrow lanes ... has an awful accident record and thus was made a 50 years ago.

I don't think or would like not to think that many people here would ever do the speed he was doing on that road.

I am more familiar with this as I know who reported him directly.

IIRC he was totally 100% polite as far as it goes and not like other footballers I have had dealings with on the A3 !!
