Default Porsche 991 (911)

Got a glimpse at one today in the dealers. Looks very modern. Some interesting things being discussed about it too. Everyone hates a Ring time, but I think it's significant that it laps the ring in the same time as a 997 GT3, on road tyres, which are smaller, has 15 less bhp, and heavier IIRC. Chris Harris was saying in Evo that it drives very like a Cayman, and probably deliberately so. This comes from the longer track (engine in the same place an a 997 though) It's also wider...

Impressive then, and you wonder what the turbo / GT3 version will be like!

Awesome.

My favourite brand.

Cayman is the supercar to the masses.

This new 911 improves the lot.

I've got a full day loan of a Cayman R on Tuesday. Will put down some thoughts...

Front looks a bit of a mess compared to 997.

My concern is the amount of tech that's gone into it. And also size bloat.

Jokes aside, it does seem a little over inflated.

It might look similar, but it's a very very different car. Have a read up.

MB , I realise that, but i just think its about time they got new set of wheels for their spyrograph. Yes its corporate identity but it getting a bit boring. Not that I can afford one, if i could i might still buy one. Off course they are also still engineering their way out of a stupid design flaw in the chassis layout and weight distribution inherited from MR Porche's first pre war Beatle.
