Slow updates with it being silly season for farming, so nothing really new picture wise, just been working on refining the mapping after switching over from alpha-n with compensation, to map based with throttle compensations as we were struggling with throttle response (inlet tract is longer than I'd like) - and investigating a few sensor errors on the crank/cam sensors - work on masking the windows helped out but I suspect we might have a duff cam sensor, so awaiting a replacement unit.

Dash back out to tidy/clip up all the connectors and drill holes for the dash control button and launch control dial too, which means I've got to make connectors for all the switches now everything is working, so they can be unplugged easily rather than having 4-7 pins per switch to keep track of.

Ah, Ed goes out farming in the summer, cars are winter work, and spring and autumn is 'fixing whatever he broke on the farm' time....

haha furry nuff

it's easier to crawl under a car (in a garage) when it's dark and shitty outside anyway i suppose. your seem properly tooled and skilled up so i thought this was some kind of professional/semi pro thing.

i worked with a performance tester recently who had a small farm with lambs and stuff. total fruitloop but his barn made my garage look shit

We did build full spaceframed cars from scratch at one point, but the bottom fell out of that back when the recession started, hence all the tools, plus in the winter we do rollcages, spaceframes, repairs/upgrades for other racers and bolt on bits for road cars - strut braces, polybushes, etc, etc.
It basically fills in the winter between other work now instead of being full time.

That doesn't sound like an s2000 at all.. much larger capacity sound.

my charged S2 has cooling issues, exposed on track. Maybe I should go for buggy body work? Haha..

Are you racing it now the farming is (I assume) easing off?

Cracking on now, should have it moving next week. Need to put the front suspension back together as we've had it all off designing new front uprights and arms.

It's the exhaust manifold, our long-branch manifold on the RX-8 engine made it sound much deeper and throatier than the roadgoing ones. It does sounds just like that, it's nothing funky in the recording.
Lifters were a bit dry though
