Default Rally Driving & Navigator Experience

I was chatting with my girlfriend the other night and although I've not really thought about doing a rally driving experience, it turns out she'd be quite interested in learning how to be a navigator.

Never one to pass up an opportunity to have some fun myself I wondered if anyone knew of a combined "experience", most of the ones I've seen are only for driving.

Car / location don't really matter.

I can't imagine you'd find an experience package that would include stuff for a navigator.

Most (read, likley all) rally prepped cars will have just 2 seats; one for the driver of said experience day and the other for the instructor. It's highly unlikley you would be let loose without an instructor alongside and beyond this I dont imagine there would be much call for an experience of sitting alongside a driver and looking at a page of strange squiggles

I suspect the art of navigating is one that is mainly self taught; likely by people who've done some driving in the past.

You're best bet would probably be to just dive in and enter one of the gentler styled fun navigation events that some car clubs run.

not sure, probably rubbish advice that

I'd say that sounds like pretty good advice. Gareth it might be worth while you meeting a couple of our rally friends who have a fair amount of experience in this (both navigating and driving) and they can probably give you a good head start direction wise.

Let us know if you want to go down this route, but membership of an MSA recognised car club will undoubtedly be a start (again I can point you in the right direction here too).

I don't log in here as much as I used to so best to PM me to make sure that I see it
