Default RARB on a different car

I had some cheap coilovers on my mk1 fabia VRS i swapped them for (due to riding a bit like a bouncy castle) something more expensive and its better, then later i added a RARB (rear anti roll bar) as the car has a fixed rear beam but bloody hell i can feel the difference!!!

Doesn't seem to roll quite as much and seem to grip better/not wallow at the back end.

Pretty happy as i wasn't expecting much difference from what is a essentially a thick bar attach to the rear beam. Did the old chicane test and see how fast i can get around a roundabout

The car goes well due to being remapped and being torque but the handling wasn't its strong point, £500 later and its miles better quite happy!

Did it not have a "RARB" before and that's all new?

I didn't know Skoda made 8 wheel cars.

No sign of any rear anti roll bar standard

No - the idea of a torsion beam is that the beam introduces an element of roll stiffness as well as location.

You can add a RARB to increase that. And a GM-style watts linkage to improve location.

Or RWS as Renault did.

At that point, you wonder if it would have been easier to do a proper multilink IRS in the first place!

The RS Meganes have always had a torsion beam rear axle.
I had to replace my last generation one after belting a kerb in the snow.
Anyhow, they all have an additional ARB attached to the torsion beam axle but its well hidden amongst the beam.

Might have to invest in this with the Golf, I guess an Eibach Pro-kit will be in order.
