Default Replacement car keys ...

My Alfa 156, which I bought second-hand, only came with one key/remote fob. I popped into an Alfa dealer today to enquire about the cost of a replacement and it made my eyes water.

The bloke at the parts counter was at pains to point out that several other makes of car are even more expensive, so I thought I'd test that claim out on here.

So, whether you've actually had to replace a key or not, what does a replacement key (incl. any remote fob) cost for your marque?

(I'll disclose the Alfa cost once I've seen a few responses ... )

Don't know Shisky, I've never needed a new one but it's the same old 'dealer' story.

Barstewards...

The problem will be both the programming of the fob frequency and the immobiliser chip.

What a PITA...
