As per title really,

I do 120m round trip for work, I'm currently using a vw bora, which has actually been great for the last year or so, I'm in no major rush to get rid, but was starting to get that itch....

Current car is diesel, @70mph I get around 60mpg and is comfy enough with an armrest etc...

I started looking at e39 525d's, with an auto box, but don't really know if it's worth the change, am I gonna get to work less stressed, am I going to spend a shitload more money on it? What's the economy like?

If I can get a good one cheapish should I do it? Many questions I know, any input will be greatly received, as will advice on other cars.

Budget isn't huge at around 3.5k but as long as its reliable what's the problem with a high miler!?
