Default Resurrecting a dead car?

Hi guys,

As well as my S2K, I've a MK4 Golf Turbo which has been stood for a while, so much so that it's COMPLETELY dead, to the point where I now cannot get into it. It won't open on the 'blipper' or manually with the key. I've tried both doors and the boot, nothing. I've even ripped the front grill off to try and release the bonnet, but no luck.

This is really me off now and I need it going!

Only thing I can think of is to get a charger on the starter and engine block to trickle in some power to get it open but this is dodgy and you can blow ECUs.

Any suggestions?

Thanks.

Why on earth would charging it that way cause a problem?

I do that when changing the battery, so as not to lose EPROMs.

Surely VAGs aren't quite THAT Shit as to blow ECUs?

I'm surprised you can't get it open from behind the grille. What's in the way?

Well clearly I still need to 'pop' the bonnet as normal before realising the bonnet with the pull pin as it wasn't having any of it.

Jump start?

So you release the bonnet release in the car and it does nothing, does a little tab no pop out?

NIck, i didn't think you could lose EPROMS - the whole point of them .

Well, they'll be EEPROMS The first E being the key - Electronically.

However, I have never managed to erase one yet so I'd be hard pushed to believe this is the case.

That is quite helpful, thanks. I'll have to see if I can get a screwdriver I'm there.

No, I can't access the interior of the car at all so I've been trying to gain access to the bonnet so I can swap the battery.
