As iconic as it is if they are in 500 million euro's of debt the current business plan doesn't work and they need to close it down.

I wouldn't want the German gov to have to hand cash to a failing private business venture.

They might be doing a charity event to raise money for it,
if it at the ring I will be making the journey there as it will be such a shame to close it down,
I have been twice and planning 2 trips in the S in 2011

Didn't somebody post this the other day?

It's the pointless shopping centre with nothing in it, hotels, and non-functioning roller coaster that's got them into debt. And of course Bernie Eccelstone.

The Nordschleife seems to get busier every year. They must be making money there.

Yes, the touristfahren on the Nordschliefe is fine, like you say, the complete disaster of the rollercoaster which will never work, and the whole Nurodisney shed thing which has crippled it all.

It's probably the bloody amount they charge for a lap which is making it suffer! Keeps the peasants away though

But I agree with the above Disney comments. I fell more sorry for the local businesses / guest houses who supported the Ring all these years, who are now suffering because of the massive Hotel there. IIRC they are being asked to pay some sort of extra charge last time I spoke to Diana at Haus Marvin.

It's value to manufacturers as a test environment would surely help safeguard it's future?

Doesn't surprise me as the place is lethal. Heard some awful stories from folk who have been. Seems everyone I have spoke to have crashed when they went too (not suprising as there is bugger all run off).

Too many good circuits in blighty (without buses and motorbikes going round at the same time) to have me driving thousands of miles to willy wave saying look I've been to the Ring and putting a gay sticker on the back of my car
