Doesn't surprise me as the place is lethal. Heard some awful stories from folk who have been.
But you havent.

And thousands of miles of driving to get there?
Where are you, Mars?

(No need to answer that)

Try going on a trackday then. I don't think I will do a public day again tbh...

Plenty of people with GT5 in the Christmas stocking by the looks of things.

LOL.

I am a bit confused by this news. Although I did know they had plans to build a museum, hotel and roller-coaster I can't believe they are in so much financial trouble

I don't see why Governments should have to bail out under-performing businesses, but I think this track is worth saving.

Even though I've never been I would love too one day, and if I'm honest the language barrier is probably holding me back more than anything else It's a race track with years of history behind it, and for me that's something worth saving. If it was a country manor house or renaissance painting then there would be no question about saving it. But just because it's "only a race track", made from tarmac and armco doesn't make it any less important as an item of historical note for German.

I don't know the numbers, but it's hard to believe the Nordshleife, with its ever busier and ever more expensive Touristenfahrten days could be losing money, not to mention that there's increasingly more trackdays, company events, and test sessions.

It's all the other nonsense that has got them into trouble. I'm sure most fans of the place wouldn't be that bothered if the entire GP circuit and complex was just buldozed, and they left the Nordshleife to get on with it.

can't see the problem myself

if the whole enterprise goes under it seems almost certain that the track would resurface under different ownership in due course

as for it becoming scum city, I can well believe it if my experience of other major events over the last decade is anything to go by

unless you REALLY ramp up the price and impose VERY strict rules o behaviour, the scum WILL take over and spoil things

never really got the sticker thing but then I don't get t-shirts with messages on them either

all goes under a heading of a bit needy afaiac

It's just another cliche, I'm afraid. Although b-segment poxboxes with a ring sticker make me rofl.

A bit like everything of interest needing a theme park & bloody great hotel built next to it, which promptly goes tits. Bit like mangement hiring another set of mangement consultants, who tell them to do exactly what the penultimate set of mangement consultants told them to do...does one still case study Enron on an MBA?

Let it go tits. The Vages could afford to buy it every month, with their impressive profits. And buy Alfa four times a year...seriously!
