Default Roadkill by name, ...

First deer collision tonight (in 12 years of seeing them on the road just about every night) - just as it was getting dark. Fortunately I was in the Suzuki. Clipped her head on the front left wing and it may just pop out (the wing, that is ) but it's probably a bit more dented than I can see at the moment. Seems it missed the rest of the car (including the lights and mirrors thank God). Deer was okay. I knocked her out, but I sat with her for a while and she came round, got up and wobbled off into the bushes.

Just thought I'd share the hazards, pre Arran Meet 6

Sounds like a very lucky escape for you both. Hopefully you won't have too much damage when you see it in daylight.

i remember years ago me and a mate were walking along the road when we saw a woman run over a duck... she stopped and was very upset... we moved the ' body ' to the side of the road, next day we are walking along hte same patch of road to find the duck now quacking and still sitting were we left it - thinking it was prob on the brink of death we tried to pick it up but it flew off !!! amazing how much of a knock animals cant take and still be ok, though i must admit a badger i once hit was not so lucky nor was the damage it caused to my s3

I hit a deer when I was in my Lotus on the edge of Epping Forest. It was such a shock. It fell on its back with its legs in the air. I was convinced that it was dead but it suddenly sprang into life again and high tailed off.

No damage to my Lotus, GRP is very forgiving.

Years ago I hit a deer on the Mendips late at night. Killed it stone dead. So we pulled it to the side of the road. Next morning we drove past - still there. 10 minutes later - gone. Hope someone enjoyed the venison steak!

Maybe you should change your name to Roadstun?
