Yeah but do you really get an adrenaline rush like a real life scary lap of the Ring?

How does the Nurburgring Actually work? Is it a bunch of mental people in cars just go on the open track and race?

And is it open all year round etc?

Any pointers to more info?

AE

Its a wierd place - very unGermanic as you pretty much turn up and thrash the nuts off your motor. It is open to tourists some weekends per year and on those days, you simply buy a ticket, stick it in the machine and off you go!

The only rules are the car must be roadworthy and not hugely loud. No requirements for crash helmets, harnesses, roll cage, fire extinguishers, nothing.

Costs about

I'd be very reluctant to do 'the ring'.....that place looks fricking scary.....not sure I'd want to witness a fatal crash either

It is scary but when you get to know it, its the most fun you can have in a car with your trousers on!

We've seen a few crashes and a serious motorbike accident (rider in coma) but its pretty unlikely that you'll see anything deeply unpleasant.

Give it a go, Zero!

I'd love to drive in IRL, I know all the turns inside and out now, my best time is now 6:19 in the TVR speed 12
