Don't know if they seel it over here, but in Italy and France they were also flogging V Max diesel at the pumps.

the V-max diesel is 10% more expensive than the regular shell diesel.. they are putting a big marketing campaign behind the Audi Tdi le mans win.. i.e. they use V-max to win le mans. I have a company shell card so makes no difference if I use V max or not.. haven't noticed any benefit for the car though

I used V max diesel in the vectra (sorry I know you don't like swearing) last year while in Italy it was dearer but I got a much higher mph and the car went better (for a v****** diesel)

I read on another board that it will be 99RON....don't know how much truth there is to that.

I was listening to a shell oils motorsport expert ,speaking on the tv yesterday .

He was saying that in Aus , they have a "Optimax Extreme " which contains 5% ethanol .

He did say it could be added in that ratio to creat a higher performance mix

It did say somewhere on the shell site...


I think its 100 ron... they were teasting it in a few petrol stations in the UK mostly in the south east area...



BP are also bringin out a new fuel that is 102 ron, and street legal (obviously) and that will eventually be available at all bp garages...
