.... and rust doth corrupt ....
When I was 20, my old man bought a TR250 (TR5) from California and had it fully restored somewhere up North to as-new condition.
When it was finished he needed to take it to his house in the Dordogne so he asked if I would follow him down in his car while he drove it down.
Unfortunately he couldn't get me insured to drive his company motor but bizzarely he could get me on the insurance of the TR250 so I had to drive it down instead.
When I was 15, he had a TR3a but as he worked away during the week it sat in his garage for most of the time. One morning I discovered it was a piece of pi55 to hotwire so I drove it to school and back that day.
(My Mum went ballistic with me when I got home but never dobbed me in to my dad who would have kicked the living sh*t out of me if he'd found out)
Keep it and tinker with it. It's lovely. (Or sell it to me for £1500
)

So it'll be about 10 then!
Remember - patina is now all the rage so try not to over-restore it!

They had a fantastically eclectic collection of cars in their workshop when I was there and they say that their true enthusiast clients don't go for the over-restored look.
Shabby chic suits us.

Thanks for you responses.
Think Moo's provenance has captured your imaginations.
I will be sure to keep this thread updated with pics and will enjoy doing so.
