S2000 or 350Z
Hi Guys,
Im torn between purchasing an S2000 or a 350z.
I only drive daily around 10miles per day, and will mainly be driving at the weekends.
I test drove a 2001 s2000 at Honda yesterday which only had 36k on the clock but the sale price was 8.5k which i thought was high?
I would be interested to hear peoples thoughts, especially if they also looked between these two cars and ended up with one over the other.
It is also highly unlikely i will use it as a track car, i will be using it as a daily drive.
Cheers guys

That sounds like a very reasonable price for such a low mileage ap1. Sounds like a steal actually. And I'm going to tell you exactly what everyone else will, test drive both and you'll have your answer. What are you wanting in a car?
Maybe I will go back to Honda then for another look. There was some rust at the bottom side skirt, but overall it was in great condition and it did drive well.. I was ideally after black (this one was grey) but as I say it seemed pretty smooth.
Im just looking for a fun car really, I currently drive a BMW 325 compact. my GF has a Polo so for any practical driving we can use her car

Im highly tempted to take a look at http://www.twelvelondonroad.co.uk/us...01305297010982 as it is my preferred colour. If anyone has any thoughts in this then please let me know.
Also never had a convertible before which seems quite exciting, and it was not as noisy as i expected on the test drive. Is it freezing in the winter though?
That's high for a 2001 car, if it's a minter it's probably worth about 6.5k tops but as you've described it as having rust then it's clearly not. For 8.5k you can be looking at a good 04/05 facelift car with lowish miles. If I were you I'd look for a very good 05, all of the facelift bits low VED and probably the best year. Later 06> cars started to have issues and you'll pay circa £480.00 VED a year.
If you read the FAQ it's a very comprehensive write up and excellent buyers guide.

350Z is a very nice car, but MASSIVELY under powered. I sold my 56 GT last year after about 8/9 months. The V6 sounds awesome, I decatted (Unsilenced) mine and it sounded even better, especially with the full Nismo Exhaust
Mpg - probably averaged about 20-24 round town, so not too bad considering its a 3.5.
Few common problems, like any car, nothing major really, but jump on the forum and have a read at the buyers guide then you'll know what to look for.

I was in the same situation a couple of years ago. I personally fitted in the 350 better, bigger car. Felt heavy, still handled well, good engine. Really enjoyed the drive. Not so sure on its shape...
So then I drove the s2000 and I couldn't stop laughing, it was amazing fun. Drive both, then pick the biggest smile! Forget what is comfy, forget the insurance, buy the one that makes you feel happy.
That s2000 is over priced IMO.
