S2000 v M3 Insurance Comparison
Hi,
I am thinking of swapping my Mondeo TDCI 130 for a BMW M3 Coupe.
I am trying to gauge how much difference running costs will be compared to the S2000 (which I will be keeping).
My main question is around insurance, how much more is an M3 likely to be compared to the S2000?
Regards
Rob

Ummm just try a simple online quote for comparison?
Unless any respondent happens to match your age, location, driving history etc, then their answer is unlikely to be of much help
If its any help, my Cayman S was cheaper than the S2000 to insure before I got track insurance

With a tracker, my M3 is cheaper to insure than my S2000 was. Without a tracker it was a bit more, but over 3 years it's cheaper to fit a tracker.
But insurance is the least of your worries. Servicing, petrol and general consumables like tyres are all way more expensive. At the end of the day, it's still a 45k car to run.
Servicing: oil, insp 1, oil, insp 2. About 10-15k miles between services depending on how you drive it (fuel based servicing). Oil service under 200, inspection service 500+ (up to 1200 if you don't shop around)
It's a cracking car for the road, but it's not cheap to run.

I do less than 6k miles a year these days, hense getting rid of the diesel.
Tyre and Servicing costs dont worry me, I just didnt want it to be twice as much to insure as my S2000.
Cheers for your help

tyres and servicing will likely way outstrip S2000 costs - much more than 'double the insurance cost of an S2000'
check out the price of discs and pads all round on an M3

Just got rid of my M3 and had 2 X s2000s.
Insurance a little cheaper on the M3.
If you dont do many miles, the M3 isnt much to run - as mine wasnt however main dealer servicing is expensive but I used a good indy. Tyres are at least
