Thumbs up Which Scooby to buy?

My bro is thinking about a scooby but neither of us know that much about the 6 million variations.

Can anyone suggest what would be the best bet for between 9 and 12k?

He is not a real fan of the spoiler so maybe a spec d? or are they only available as the newest facelift and therfor out of budget? The other option is a sport wagon...

I could probably persuade him on the spoiler issue though

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I think you should post that question on Scoobynet

Then sit back and enjoy the entertainment

It will be like a pikey fight

The earrings and gum chewing give it away really.

I had considered that but I think the responses here might be a bit more coherent!

http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/123881.htm looks nice to me.

I remember reading that the jdm's with twin scroll turbos were meant to be very good also. I guess as imports they are probably more expensive to run though.

Wingnut,

You need to decide whether you want a UK or JDM. If you go JDM, yes you get a better spec and more power, but there is a lot to look out for.

I know the 94-00 cars like the back of my hand so let me know if you need help.

9-12k puts you in bugeye territory, or a UK STi 03 at a push.

JDM's didnt come with a twin scroll until 03, and yes they are very good.

A JDM can also be expensive to run, especially if they go pop, which can happen if the owner has been ignorant.

I would suggest either do a LOT of reading if you go JDM, or go for a UK car to get to know how it all works

PS - you are going to need near double your budget for a Spec D
