Thumbs up Second Car Insurance

Hello,

Can anyone recommend an insurance company or broker that will insure a 2nd car (a new policy) but will take into account my current NCB.

Thanks

Do a confused.com (or other comparison site) and get a list of prices without NCD.

Then phone up a selection, explain your situation and see what they say.

I have my main policy on my S2000. I did the above when I got my Omega and went with a company (can't remember who at the mo ) and they gave me 3 years introductory NCD on the basis of my driving history etc. You won't get the full NCD - I have 9 (max) on my Honda.

I doubt you'll get more than 1/2/3 years "introductory" NCD whatever though, but that's usually enough to make it affordable.

So basically, many will do this, just phone around and see which.

I thought Admiral was just multicar though? i.e. one NCD across multiple cars. So after a year you still only have one NCD. As I have it, I have 2 NCDs.

Regardless, shop around. Admiral in my case was somewhat more expensive than two separate policies that I ended up going with.

be very careful about inputting your real details on comparison sites

unless you are being 100% accurate and truthful in all information you provide

some companies have a habit of picking up on 'inconsistencies' after you have taken out a policy

even if, like most people, you have nothing to hide, it can be annoying to think that so much personal data is being harvested

LV did us proud in that dept when the S2000 arrived. No questions asked and added the second car on. Not the cheapest quote out there but was with full NCB. The full NCB is transferable so after the year we can insure with the cheapest we can find.
