Multi Car Insurance Policies
I guess a good number have more than one car requiring insurance.
I've got the s2000 with 7 yrs NCB on a policy and need to renew my Accord policy with 3 yrs NCB now.
What do the rest of you do with more than one car?
I'm not sure whether its worth keeping the 2 policies separate or combining in one multicar policy.
Anyone with useful advice?

multi-policy for me
I've found the second/third/fourth car premium to be highly competitive and way below the cost of insuring separately - by about 33% on the second car I'd say
and a bit more on the others
I guess they know you can only drive one at a time
even if there is 4 x theft risk

In theory, keeping 2 separate policies means you are contributing to 2 times the admin expenses, marketing costs, etc of possibly two different insurers.
Admiral provide an additional discount on insuring 2+ cars under their Multicar policy.
I use them. Not only were they the cheapest for both my cars when I got individual quotes, but the multicar policy gave effectively an additional 15% off those 'best' quotes.
So price-wise, it seems to make sense.
Also, you can have different main drivers on each car, so you both accrue no claims bonus. This is useful if you have a partner with no NCD because they have been a secondary driver in the past.
Hope that's useful.

Down to different demographics, post code, target markets and pricing models.
Makes like for like comparison of quotes difficult!

just wanted to inject some balance into what was becoming a very pro-Admiral thread

Point taken.
Looking beyond Admiral I think multicar policies are predominantly available through brokers - but I think they have more of an interest in insuring 3 or more cars.
An alternative is to go to your existing insurer and see if they can mirror your NCD on a second car.
