Good news, heard today car is built and on its way

Reading today on babybmw re fan/power loss issues, anyone here had that?

Hopefully mine will have latest fan/software anyway.

Anyway, looking like I will have the car before end of October, starting to allow myself to be excited

Think the fan issue has been fixed. No problems to talk of with ours so far, touch wood.

Mine's been faultless since I picked it up 24000 miles ago. And it's had a hard life :-)

Some b*****d has scratched my bumper!

If it wasn't for the scuff mark around it you'd say it was a stone chip.
It's going back into Park Lane BMW soon to have a new accelerator sensor fitted - this was causing the chassis warning light to come on from time to time - so I'll get them to have a look.

Just put two new PSS's on the front ready for winter £142 each fitted
I'll do the rears next month
It's been great in the shit weather over the last couple of days, just needs due respect as would any RWD car
Some arse punched a hole in a rear light and scuffed the bumper with out leaving a note
£191 for the light and £110 for the bumper repair

When the car was at BMW they told me the car had a puncture and needed a new tyre, quoted over £200!
And it didn't need a new tyre anyway.

I bought a set of winter tyres for ours which I plan to stick on towards then end of November depending on the weather. BMW were doing an offer on them. Seemed the offer was cheaper than the sum of the parts, was 1600 for all four including the tyre pressure monitors.

Wait to see if they get accepted as easily as the dealer told me they would.

He claimed the system would learn the new sensors when reset, which would be far more convenient than Aston where each one had to be programmed by the stealer, else would through up an error.

Well my Mk1 Mx5 is my only car at the moment so I'm looking forward to the BMW for a bit of winter comfort!

My journey to work on Monday took an hour longer than normal thanks to three accidents in the wet not least the guy who had spun his FWD Honda Accord into the armco on a dual carriageway.

I couldn't help but think that perhaps everyone should experience a car like the MX-5 in these conditions at some point - not that it has any less grip than any similarly tyred car, but just you are so much more aware of what is going on and where you are regarding the limits that in treacherous conditions you take it more easy, just as in dry you can take it nearer the edge...

Must say the MX-5 (without wanting to tempt fate!) has been good as gold in these conditions, no leaks, doesn't steam up, no worrying moments, it's a bloody good little car

Anyway, good news no others have issues re fan. Car is scheduled for arrival at the dealer on the 17th so hoping to get my hands on it the week after, not long to go now
