Fingers crossed you get the damage sorted out quickly Graham.

Is the car insured?

Sorry to hear about and see the aftermath of your off. Glad to hear you are ok and hope that everything gets sorted as quickly and cost effectively as possible.

Nope.

I haven't looked into it TBH but the theory is that the insurance premiums and excess will be very large so with a *relatively* low value and cheap to repair car like mine, it's better to have the money sitting in the bank.

That might sound silly now but I have been pretty unlucky with the damage in this smash so overall I still think it's the best policy.

I'm an idiot but my timing is impeccable. I started a new contract last week, much earlier than I was expecting, and I've got the biggest gap between races of the season to get it sorted

That is good.

But, remind me on Wednesday to put you in touch with our insurers, might be cheaper than you think

We're putting big stabilisers and bumpers on the car for you on Wednesday by the way

Thanks Rich, I'll certainly look into it.

I'll be keeping the heroics to a minimum for the time being...

Rich pass me the details too ! The quotes I've had in the past have been x00 pounds per event, after 10 of those you can pay for the damage ! (and there's a hefty XS)

What really made me laugh immediately after the crash was me phoning Graham's brother, Andy. He apparently loooked at his phone, saw it was me, questioned why I was calling him whilst he was in the pits and then he answered the phone...

"What the **** has he done now?"
