Default Services fuel prices

A short rant but wtf?

I filled my S up yesterday at a services on the M6, 71 feking quid (£65 from empty at local Shell Vpower), I should have put in a gallon and drove off the motorway ... I had no idea motorway services charged more for fuel than 'standard' filling stations ... oh well lesson learned!

Everything is dearer in motorway service stations. Captive audience.

It's nothing to do with captive audience (well it's a little bit to do with captive audience) - the main reason for higher costs is the rent costs are enormous vs a standard forecourt / retail unit.

£6 on the cost of a tank? I'd pay £6 to not have to faff around going to ANOTHER fuel station to put the rest of the tank of fuel in.

Exactly what I was wondering. Who doesn't know that services are expensive?

But it's worth it because of the amount of great, useful and relevant things you can buy for your journey! :0
