Hmmm...so can I

The Masser is very tempting....

Oh and BADA - if you have a problem with the 996 turbo...take one out for a test drive, rag the bejaysus off it on a damp B road.

They are epic

993 for looks (apart from that interior)

996 for performance

turbo is the only model I'd consider and the Paragon cars look fairly priced

at least as a starting point for negotiations

Shame the 993 isn't the late model Turbo S which is by far my favourite Porker.

The only way to find out is to drive them both! Either your itch will be scratched or not, as the case may be.

The 993 was 'raw' with a bit of a haphazard dashboard but it was fine.
A bit haphazard? Shipley, you should have followed a career with the Diplomatic Corps!

It was dated even when the 993 was introduced (mainly because Porsche didn't bother to change it from the outgoing 964 model), and you've got to love the ergonomics of a design that means (at least with where my seat is set) you can't see the speedo needle once it passes around 85 as it's hidden behind the rim of the steering wheel!

(For all that, I love mine and will be very sorry to see it go in a few months time )
