SLK 32 AMG

SLK 32 AMG
Hi All,
Was wondering if anyone here has/had one of these? I am getting really tempted to trade in my 'S' for one of them now. I have had the 'S' for 6 months and it has been faultless and also great fun but I think I might just fancy a change now.
It seems theres a few good valued SLK 32's popping up now and being very limited in numbers (250 only for the UK?), this also appeals to me.
I would love to know if anyone has experience of an SLK 32 AMG and could advice what I should expect on the cost of running and servicing one of these?
Also, are they regarded as being reliable? is there any weaknesses that need to be kept an eye on? Is build quality more traditional MB or of recent past!
Any opinions/advice would be most welcome, thanks!

There has been one bought on here. I forget the owner - apols.
He really rated its power though, but said, compared to the S, the gearbox was crap. I thought they were flappy paddle?
I expect it to be a deep pocket ownership proposition but a complete vandals hoot of a motor.

Ah ok, I will try search and see if anything was posted? Thanks!
From what I know so far (still in the midst of researching up on the car), it comes with AMG's SpeedShift automatic gearbox. I hope to arrange a test drive sometime during the next couple of weeks or sooner if I can.
Performance wise it has outstanding pace from all the figures I have seen for it.

Thanks for the link, however thats the current generation SLK 350 (R171). Nice car nevertherless!
I am interested in the previous shape SLK, the 32 AMG version which comes with massive 349bhp! It has a 3.2 V6, supercharged engine ( the same engine found in the C32 AMG).

Someone had the proper 55 one, but basically found it a bit over-engined for its own good.
Someone else has the 350, which appears to be the model around which the car was optimised and is probably the best version.
AMG suspension only works on German roads, basically.

Performance wise, there's nothing between the two although apparently according to the figures on paper, the 32 AMG is fractionally faster.

Who cares though, which is faster? It's getting to the point of esoteria.
It's more important which is more pleasant to drive and the heavy V8 seems to spoil the 55 and thus requires awful suspension.

it has the characteristics of AMG Mercs - fine in a straight line and cursed with an automatic gearbox
unfortunately, this one comes in the camp wrapping paper......
power is NOT everything - even in broadly similar cars
the E55 AMG saloon for example, isn't a patch on an E39 M5 - unless your sole criterion is straight line performance
this SLK is a bit like the Z3M roadster - a wasted opportunity
I think the only AMG that could tempt me is the SL55
