Default Slowest Lap of the Nurburgring..

I think I may have set a record for the slowest lap of the Nurburgring in a car which was in a forward gear, on Sunday.

I had some business in Switzerland this Monday and as always drove down. This time I decided to fit in a lap of the 'Ring which I last drove about 20 years ago. Getting there early on Sunday - it opens at 8.00am - I paid my 19 Euros, waited for the first mass of cars to get out on circuit and then made my way out. No video brings home to you how steep the descents and ascents are, and how many blind corners/crests there are, so I spent the entire lap keeping an eye on my rear view mirror and staying on the RH side of the circuit. I think I exceeded 100 about twice, while being overtaken by some people who clearly knew their way round, many of whom were driving what are termed Dedicated Ring Tools. Still great fun and a nice way to break the journey down.

I felt the same Welshman, but it was something I'd always wanted to do, and I did it, and really enjoy it..................................afterwards

My highlight was smoking a new SLK200 on my second lap

That'll teach him for messing with the big boys
