It's taken a while for the weather to improve to the point where I could take photos, but here we are:
As seen in the rearview mirror of an S2000!

The Cockpit
The control panel with SatNav display shown (also acts as the television screen and displays audio, television, climate and telephone controls)
The Executive Lounge
The 4.2 litre powerhouse
Not much room for any add-ons!
I have had to lengthen the garage by a metre and widen the doorway by cutting back the jambs! Thankfully the XJ8 has fold-back mirrors.
The XJ8 only just fits onto the shortened driveway but the new electrically operated roller garage door makes all the difference. We extended my neighbour's garage too, so that he could get his Bentley Continental in. Surprisingly the XJ8 is a foot longer than the Continental, even though the XJ8 is the standard wheelbase version, and it's only one inch narrower.
The quoted Combined Fuel Consumption figure for the XJ8 is 26mpg as opposed to the quoted 28.2 for the S2000. The Bentley Continental figure is 16.5 mpg - but it does have a 6 litre engine and reportedly does 0-60 in 4.7 seconds!
I suppose Gordon Brown will eventually clobber large cc cars like this but in the meantime I shall enjoy it - live now, pay later!
